Dubai does festive season big, and Mandarin Oriental Jumeira is kicking things off with a showpiece that feels straight out of a couture dream. The hotel has unveiled a custom-made Christmas tree designed by Daniel Roseberry for Maison Schiaparelli, and it’s less “holiday decor” and more “fashion sculpture you happen to walk past in the lobby.”

The whole idea comes from a deeply personal part of Schiaparelli’s story: the stars. Elsa Schiaparelli fell in love with the cosmos early in life. Her uncle, Giovanni Schiaparelli, was a famous astronomer and let her look through his telescope as a child. That time spent gazing at planets and constellations stayed with her, and years later it surfaced in her legendary Zodiac collection for Fall/Winter 1938–39. That collection overflowed with celestial symbols, cosmic patterns, and references to the solar system, turning the night sky into fashion.
