Prada Group reportedly interested in acquiring Versace

The Italian group is currently studying the terms of acquiring the Versace fashion house, owned by Capri Holdings.
Tongues are loosening over the potential future of Capri Holdings , owner of the Versace, Michael Kors and Jimmy Choo labels. According to a report by the Reuters news agency, the Italian group has engaged Barclays bank to consider different options for the sale of its activities, including the retail sale of its brands.
According to the same source, which relies partly on the economic news daily Il Sole 24 ore , Prada Group is among the structures interested in buying the Maison Versace in particular. In this context, the Milanese group is said to be closely advised by the American investment bank Citi.
In a context of general slowdown for the luxury industry, Prada Group has maintained a double-digit growth in its turnover over the first nine months of 2024, at 3.829 billion euros. The group's portfolio includes the brands Prada, Miu Miu, Church's, Car Shoe and Marchesi 1824 .
