Kering calls on BCG and Bain to optimize its brands

BCG takes over Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga and Bottega Veneta.

In difficulty in recent months, the group (Yves Saint Laurent, Gucci, Balenciaga, etc.) has commissioned the consulting and analysis firms BCG and Bain to study the performance and boost its brands, which are divided between the two entities.

Chief Executive Luca de Meo, who has been in office since last September, is taking the first steps in Kering's turnaround. To do this, the businessman has entrusted the group's brands to Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Bain & Company, two giants in the strategy consulting firm sector. While these analytics entities were competing for control of the company's entire portfolio, de Meo chose to name them both, dividing efforts to optimize results. However, the firms will have very distinct missions depending on the houses allocated.
