Without the HAC, there's no Birkin. Christie's auction house is selling an original bag that belonged to the couple Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin. A cult model, a variation of the very first bag launched by Hermès in 1892.

In the beginning, there was the HAC, for "Haut à Courroies" . Presented as part of the Handbags & Accessories sale to be held at Christie's in Paris on November 6, this exceptional piece was regularly seen on the arms of Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg during their travels in the 70s.
